The gardens at Cardiff always bring something unique and it is always great to see a garden that incorporates a little bit of Wales into this Welsh event. The garden put together by the first year students of Bridgend was a great example of this.

The garden ‘Discover the Heart of Wales’ to life was inspired by the Arriva Trains ‘Heart of Wales’ line, this garden represented the journey from an urban environment to a hilly, secluded woodland landscape.

The garden was made up of two parts; the foreground was made up of paved areawith planting of topiary to demonstrate the city buildings.

The back of the garden was linked by a paved path (meandering footpath) leading visitors away from the straight lines of a city lifestyle and into the woodlands beyond.
